Job Description
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our leadership team as the Assistant Director of Student Success for the Tickle College of Engineering (TCE). Reporting to the Director of Student Success, this critical role will lead the tutoring center, ensuring that our students thrive and receive exceptional support throughout their academic journey. The College: The Tickle College of Engineering provides 11 BS degrees, 16 MS degrees and 13 Ph.D. degrees through 7 departments. The College has a common freshman program administered by the TCE through the Engineering Fundamentals Directorate overseeing the general Engineering Fundamentals and Engineering Honors Programs. The total number of undergraduate students is over 3500 with over 1000 freshmen. The TCE has more than 170 tenure-track faculty. More information is found: Tickle College of Engineering .

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the TCE Tutoring Center and Peer Learning and Leadership Coordinator to identify courses with faculty, design and implement tailored tutoring programs/workshops and hire, recruit, and retain student tutors.
Maintain the budget for the TCE Tutoring Center and develop a strategic plan with scalability for long-term growth.
Collaborate with college departments to determine areas to provide targeted support for at-risk students through data collection and analysis; uses data to created targeted programmatic support for at-risk students that is aimed at improving academic skills, career readiness, and wellbeing.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Master's degree in any field of study.
With a minimum of a combination of 5 years of experience working with diverse populations, professional experience in admissions, teaching, and/or student services at a regionally accredited college or university.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to details.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
Proven ability to work independently and within a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of best practices in higher education student support.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning.
Demonstrated relationship building skills.
